The trolley continues Heaven Hill Distilleries, 30 year long tradition of providing Bardstown with a tour vehicle in the downtown district. Launched in May 2004, the new trolley has been used on a daily basis to provide thousands of people with an enjoyable and entertaining one hour tour of the City of Bardstown. In addition it has been hired for weddings, company outings, picnics and all sorts of other fun occasions.
Located at the city’s newest “Trolley Stop” in downtown Bardstown, right on Court Square, between the Bardstown Welcome Center and Talbott Tavern in the heart of downtown Bardstown, each full tour takes about an hour and twenty minutes. This fully narrated tour includes information about our historical town as well as The Bourbon Heritage Center Tour.
The trolley is richly colored in dark brown and gold details. Brass railings complete the historically correct style of an original turn-of-century cable car. The custom designed trolley has a beautiful white oak, the interior and has custom designed upholstered seating for thirty. (24) Valve diesel engine pulls a custom design chasse on a brand new freight liner frame. Our customized trolley includes a “politicians” platform on the back of the trolley for special uses. We offer a fully enclosed air conditioned and heated environment for all seasons.
We can also customize our tours for special groups. Special tours can be arranged to cover the civil war, bourbon, historical architecture or religion, in addition Bardstown has vast amounts of recorded genealogical information that can be included on a specifically customized tour.
Of course we are also available for rentals including, school classes, motor coach groups, receptions, weddings and parties. We are available for group pick ups and special events.
School Groups: We have custom designed tours including subject-based curriculum for studies in history, architecture, and civic classes.
