Behind the Scenes Bourbon Connoisseur Tour
Interested in becoming a true Kentucky Bourbon Connoisseur? You need to take a closer look at Heaven Hill’s Bourbon Heritage Center in Bardstown. In fact, Bourbon lovers have been clamoring for a more detailed experience for years.
While the Bourbon Heritage Center has been giving free tours and tastings since this state-of-the-art facility was opened four years ago, Bourbon experts have been planning to add a more in-depth Bourbon experience at the nation’s largest Family owned facility here in the Bourbon Capitol of the World.
Currently the public is invited to view a 20 minute film on the history of Bourbon, take a behind the scenes tour of a Bourbon-aging rick house and taste two of Heaven Hill Distilleries premium brands. But now, thanks to some forward-thinking at the Bourbon Heritage Center, the public can experience more of a detailed educational tour of the entire process.
Starting in March of 2009, the public will be invited to become true Bourbon Ambassadors through a half day experience at Bardstown’s finest Bourbon Distillery. They will learn even more details about the production of this true American Spirit in a behind-the-scenes tour and educational seminar soon to be offered at Heaven Hill.
The new experience includes a guided tour of the cistern room where barrels are filled, a walk through tour of Heaven Hill’s automated bottling operation, and the brand new “dump” room where aged Barrels of Bourbon are emptied and prepared for bottling.
“We’ve always had guests ask for even more details about the operation than were open to the public,” Lynne Grant, director of the Bourbon Heritage Center, said. “Even before we opened the Museum, people were fascinated by the bottling operation.”
“And now, we’re offering a half day experience where guests to can actually see the entire operation here in Bardstown and have an opportunity to talk to the experts as they craft our premium Bourbons.”
Where else can the public learn more about the traditions and heritage of making Bourbon, than right here at Heaven Hill Distilleries?
This new education experience is being offered starting in March for only $49.95 per person. It will include a thorough tour of Heaven Hill’s entire 50 acre operation with transportation provided by the Heaven Hill Trolley.
So, if you are very, very interested in Kentucky Bourbon, sign up today for this in-depth, educational half-day experience at Heaven Hill. Participants will become eligible for an “Apprentice Distillers” certificate and become one of a small group of people who have experienced the entire Heaven Hill operation.
